Woman caught dumping bagful of rubbish into drain
It's unfortunate how so many people still fail to consider the importance of proper waste disposal practices.
I do wish that people who submit such reports to STOMP could at least provide more information and details, such as the location, and the date and time when such abhorrent acts were witnessed. And citizen journalism must go beyond merely taking a few (sometimes useless and uninformative) photographs and sending it to STOMP; it has to involve actually making the effort to notify the relevant authorities. In this case, I believe that the Public Utilities Board (PUB) should have been informed about this act of dumping of rubbish.
Much of what I said in an earlier post, in particular about needing Singaporeans to actually take greater responsibility in ensuring the cleanliness of our reservoirs and waterways, applies here.
