A STOMPer would like to acknowledge the efforts put in by the relevant authorities to clean the canal in Pasir Ris.
Aini 576 told STOMP via email today (Jun 17):
"I have been living in Pasir Ris since the early 90s.
"Whenever it rained, the canal would be filled with floating debris and dried leaves.
"However, recently I noticed that the authorities have been regularly and diligently monitoring the canal and its cleansing.
"Officers from the relevant ministry keep constant watch over workers/cleaners to ensure that the canal is kept clean and debris-free.
"I am happy and proud to be living in such a clean and green environment with the canal in such a well-maintained state.
"I hope the residents around Pasir Ris and Tampines will cooperate with the authorities and do our part in keeping our canal and environment clean.
