The cool, clear water in this Pulau Ubin quarry may be inviting on a hot day, but there are many unseen dangers there.
A STOMPer who took these photos said:
"These pictures show the peaceful quarry lakes on Pulau Ubin. Once a busy quarry this has now become a lake that beckons swimmers to take a dip in its cool clear water.
"However there lurks aquatic snakes in this lake and some parts could be deep and dangerous.
"Last week I saw some school kids climbing over the fence as they could not resist the tempation of swimming in the water to cool themselves in the sweltering heat.
"Unbeknown to them, this was a hazardous place to swim and fish for those who were new to Ubin.
"NParks has put up a notice with the word DANGER and the picture of a man on a slope with falling rocks.
"Perhaps a notice to say that trespassers will be slapped with a fine of $500 would be more of a deterrent."
