Serious soil erosion at Pasir Ris Park

Serious soil erosion at Pasir Ris Park
STOMPer BeachComber says that if nothing is done soon, ferocious waves will keep eroding the turf at Pasir Ris Park.

In an email to STOMP today (June 14), the STOMPer says:

"These pictures were taken at the beach at Pasir Ris Park. The pounding of the waves day in and day out has taken a toll on the turf and soil.

"If nothing is done soon, the ferocious waves may claim the lives of the other four coconut trees.

"The next generation of school kids will soon be drawing a different map of Singapore in their geography lessons.

"The sandy coast has pushed the land further and further inland. Meanwhile, the waves will keep eroding the turf and the soil, and this relentless process will not stop unless someone puts a stop to this serious invasion.

"I hope NParks will take action before the coconut trees topple over."
