"Tree roots may cause this Spottiswoode Park shophouse to collapse"

"Tree roots may cause this Spottiswoode Park shophouse to collapse"
The tree growing on this wall may cause the whole building to collapse, says a STOMPer.

In an email to STOMP today (April 6), the STOMPer says:

"This picture was taken near an old shophouse at Spottiswoode Park.

"You can see a tree growing on the wall at level two of a two-storey building.

"The roots will slowly crack the walls and the gutter. Nothing can stop the tremendous power of tree roots.

"In time to come the wall will give way and the building may collapse.

"Tree roots and floods can bring a disaster to man if he does nothing to avert the danger."
