Stairway to... nowhere

Stairway to... nowhere
A STOMPer saw this old stone staircase, which leads to nowhere, at the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and was intrigued by it.

He says:

"This picture was taken at the biking trail at the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.

"The stone staircase leads to nowhere because previously there was a squatter house which has since been cleared by the state.

"It is a forlorn reminder that once upon a time humans used to live here.

This STOMPer also describes the interesting sights he came across:

"In the first picture you can see a stick insect which takes on the colour of the twigs and rocks.

"The second picture shows two butterflies and a housefly feeding on a dead insect.

"In the third picture you can see that after a few days of heavy rain, part of the biking trail was washed away by the rain water."
